One of the oldest insurance industry associations in the world will hold its Latin American conference virtually for the first time in 2020.

This trade association has been a client of UniVerse Language for over 15 years. Every fall, they hold their yearly Latin American conference either in Latin America or in the United States. UniVerse has been a provider of conference interpretation equipment and services throughout many Latin American countries and U.S. cities.

## Goals / Challenges

By moving to the virtual arena, the client wasn’t sure how to set up the cost structure for clients to attend the conference.

The revenue needed to cover the cost of streaming the event, as well as the cost of interpretation services. They decided to offer a tiered cost structure based on the total number of employees of banks or insurance companies.

This posed a challenge for UniVerse’s interpretation streams, which could be joined anywhere between 10 and 1,000 people per company.

## Solutions

UniVerse set up an RSI platform with sufficient server capacity to cover thousands of users joining simultaneously and accessing the language channels at different times throughout the event. The non-English speakers could join the main meeting using a browser and connect to our RSI platform using another browser. The server capacity allowed for thousands of bank and insurance industry attendees to join without crashing the site.
